TT-425 Double Head Saws for Aluminium and PVC Profiles

BrandHaffner

The TT-425 is a high-performance double head saw designed for production-scale cutting of aluminium and PVC profiles. With two 475mm saw blades operating on the undercut principle, the machine delivers precise, clean cuts across a wide range of profile sizes, from compact sections used in residential windows through to large industrial and façade profiles.

As the UK’s official Fom Industrie distributor, we supply, install, and support the TT-425 for fabricators across the country. Whether you are setting up a new production line or replacing an ageing saw, the TT-425 offers the combination of cutting capacity, positional accuracy, and programmable control that modern aluminium and PVC fabrication demands.

Who the TT-425 Double Head Saw Is For

The TT-425 is suited to fabricators who need reliable, repeatable profile cutting at volume. It is particularly well matched to:

  1. Window and door fabricators producing aluminium or PVC frames at scale, where consistent cut length and angle accuracy directly affects frame assembly quality and hardware fit.
  2. Commercial and architectural glazing contractors working with larger profile sections for curtain walling, bi-fold systems, or façade applications, where the TT 425’s wide cutting range and tilt and pivot capability handle complex angle requirements.
  3. Trade fabricators and manufacturers running mixed production, where the ability to store up to 2,000 cutting programmes and transfer job data via USB or network connection reduces setup time between runs.

If your current saw requires manual repositioning between cuts, lacks programmable length control, or cannot handle the profile sizes your jobs demand, the TT-425 is a direct upgrade.

How the TT-425 Double Head Saw Works

The TT-425 operates with one fixed saw head on the left and one automatically positioned movable head on the right. The operator enters the required cut length on the PLC touch panel control system, and the movable head positions itself automatically using the built-in linear bearing system.

Both heads tilt automatically to 45° and 90°. Intermediate angles between 45° and 90° can be set manually and locked, with the angle displayed digitally on each head to 0.1° precision. This makes the TT 425 capable of compound cuts for complex aluminium profile applications without manual measurement or repositioning.

The undercut principle used by both blades means the saw enters the profile from below, which produces cleaner cut faces and reduces burring on aluminium sections compared to top-feed alternatives. Profile lifting bars raise the workpiece clear of the machine bed for easy removal after cutting.

Two vertical pneumatic clamps per saw head secure the profile firmly during the cut, eliminating movement that would otherwise affect length or angle accuracy.

Cutting Capacity and Configuration Options

The TT 425 is available in three standard bed lengths to suit different workshop sizes and production requirements:

Configuration Maximum Cutting Length Machine Length
Standard 6,000mm 10,200mm
Extended 7,500mm 11,700mm
Compact 4,500mm 8,700mm

Minimum cutting lengths vary depending on the angle configuration. At 90°, the minimum cut length is 450mm. At compound pivot angles of 45°/45°, the minimum is 700mm.

The pivoting range covers 90° to 45° automatically, with manual adjustment available down to 22.5° for specialist cutting applications. This range makes the TT 425 suitable for both standard 45° mitre cuts and wider-angle cuts required for architectural aluminium profiles.

Comparing the TT-425 with Other Haffner Double Head Saws

Haffner offers a range of double head saws to suit different production scales and profile requirements. Here is how the TT 425 sits within the range:

  1. TT 352 — Entry-level double head saw with 350mm blades and manual head positioning. Suited to smaller workshops cutting lighter profiles at lower volumes.
  2. TT 405 / TT 415 — Mid-range double head saws with 450mm blades and automatic head positioning. Suitable for standard aluminium and PVC fabrication where the larger 475mm blade of the TT 425 is not required.
  3. TT 425 — The flagship production saw, with 475mm blades, full tilt and pivot capability, and the widest cutting range in the Haffner double head saw lineup. Best suited to high-volume fabricators and those cutting larger or more complex profiles.
  4. TT 426-10 — A servo-driven variant offering enhanced speed and accuracy via servo motor control. Suited to fabricators where maximum throughput and the highest positional accuracy are the priority.

Installation, Training, and UK Support

Every TT-425 supplied by Haffner is installed and commissioned by our UK-based engineering team. Installation includes machine positioning and levelling, electrical and pneumatic connection, control system setup, and a full operational handover with your production team.

Operator training is included as standard, covering machine controls, programme entry, angle setting, blade changing, and daily maintenance routines. Most operators are confident running the machine independently within the first day of use.

Following installation, Haffner provides ongoing support through our UK service team, including:

  • Scheduled preventive maintenance visits
  • Rapid response callout for unplanned downtime
  • UK-held spare parts for fast turnaround
  • Remote diagnostic support via our technical team

As the UK’s official Fom Industrie distributor, we hold stock of key consumables and wear parts, which means faster lead times than sourcing directly from the manufacturer.

Common FAQs

What profiles can the TT 425 double head saw cut?
The TT 425 is designed for aluminium and PVC profiles used in window, door, and architectural glazing fabrication. It handles a wide range of profile widths and depths, with the 475mm blade diameter and tilting heads providing clearance for larger sections that smaller saws cannot accommodate.

What is the maximum cutting length of the TT 425?
The maximum cutting length is 7,500mm on the extended configuration, 6,000mm on the standard machine, and 4,500mm on the compact version. The standard 6,000mm configuration is the most common for UK fabricators.

Can the TT 425 cut compound angles?
Yes. Both saw heads tilt automatically to 45° and 90°, with manual adjustment available down to 22.5°. The pivot and tilt combination allows compound angle cuts for architectural profiles and specialist applications.

How many cutting programmes can the TT 425 store?
The control system stores up to 2,000 programmes, each holding item number, cut length, angle, and quantity. Job data can be loaded via USB or network connection, which supports integration with CAD/CAM and production management systems.

What are the power and air supply requirements for the TT 425?
The TT 425 requires a 400V 3-phase 50/60Hz electrical supply with a total power output of 11kW. The pneumatic system operates at 6 to 8 bar with an air consumption of 60 litres per minute.
